Biggiethedachshund- thank you!! It must’ve worked :D
Mmmhoneycombs- ah, I went through a few vets whom I wasn’t very pleased with. I didn’t have any luck with local vets, so I widened my search a bit. This new vet’s about 35 minutes away, but it’s well worth the drive! Good luck!
Okay so it was awesome. The vet was a really cool guy. And he was actually HAPPY to hear I feed raw. He even had his tech write down hare today’s website because he said his clients sometimes have difficulty sourcing around here. So that was neat.
He was really impressed with her teeth and he also does chiropractic work so we talked about that and he got out one of his adjustment tools and did some stuff with her.
They really promote semi-annual visits (which I love) and they have a program set up for their clients where the first visit of the year they do a physical exam, 3-year rabies and fecal and bloodwork (which includes heartworm test), and then the second visit includes another physical exam and EKG and titers. So she had her bloodwork and all done today and it was really good.
I am so happy I found this place! It was basically exactly what I was looking for. My vet was really nice, the staff was really nice, they had separate entrances and exits so there wasn’t a lot of traffic and chaos (my old vets’ lobbies were always crazy).
I was expecting to pay a little more for the quality of care, but everything she had done today only came out to $160 which is really inexpensive for my area. My last vet charged $65 just for a heartworm test. I was expecting to spend at least $300 today so I was really relieved when I checked out.
So yeah awesome day. So pleased I managed to find a vet who doesn’t think that raw is the devil and actually promotes titers. Excited to get both of the cats in.
Haha thank you! It’s good to know I’m not the only one!
Live-blogging from the parking lot of the vet’s office. Idk why going to the vet makes me so anxious, but I should probably just go ahead and go in
